Act 5, Scene 1 Summary

Gower asks Fluellen why he is wearing a leek in his hat. The Welsh traditionally wear a leak in their hat to commemorate Davy, their patron saint, but the day to do so has already past. He says he is wearing it to remind him to punish Pistol who made fun of the Welsh for wearing the leek.

When Pistol enters, Fluellen yells at him and forces him to eat the leek. When Pistol refuses, he beats him until he finally eats it. Fluellen walks away satisfied.....
