Act 3, Scene 4 Summary

The scene now changes to the French palace and to Katherine and her maid. The scene is conducted in French. Katherine asks her maid who has visited England to teach her English. The maid tells her the English words for hand, finger, nails, arm, elbow, neck etc. Once they name these few body parts, Katherine says she has had enough and they go to dinner.

Act 3, Scene 4 Analysis

This scene introduces Katherine, a young girl of 14, who will eventually be the queen of England. She alludes to it herself when she says it is necessary that she learn English. She already knows that she will be Henry's queen. In the final scene of the play, Henry becomes engaged to her.
