Summary

Heather, The Totality tells the intersecting stories of the Breakstone family, Mark and Karen, who live in New York and a disturbed young man named Bobby Klasky from Newark, New Jersey, all three of whom gradually devote all of their waking thoughts and actions to the Breakstone’s teenage daughter Heather, with tragic consequences.

Chapter One begins with the backstory of the marriage between Mark and Karen. They were set up by mutual acquaintances without knowing much about each other. Karen’s main interest in Mark was his potential to become very rich in the future. Mark was surprised by how beautiful Karen was.
