Part 4, First Half (Saul, Carl, Virginia, Saul) Summary

Saul awakens from his slot slep. When he regains his senses, Carl is with him. Carl is now in charge of the mission. Some of the diseases have mutated, and Carl wants Saul to take a look at them. The real reason they woke him up is because they need Virginia's help.

Carl himself has been in and out of slot-sleep since Saul and Virginia were put under. He is waiting for Malcolm with Jeffers in Central. Earth has gotten a better at space propulsion and has sent them a care package filled with much-needed supplies. It is destined to reach them in two years. Malcolm arrives and demands more food from Hydo for the Ortho faction. Jeffers and Carl remind him that they only need more because they have chosen...
