Hate List

Valerie began a hate list in a red notebook at school on a day when some of the other students and her parents upset her. The list became something Valerie and Nick could do together, a joke in Valerie's eyes that Nick took seriously. On the day of the shootings, Nick picked off kids whose names were on the list.

Drawings

After the shootings and upon her return to school, Valerie began making drawings of her classmates as she saw them: with question marks for faces, with wolf-like faces, or made of huge tears. At graduation, Valerie gives the notebook with these drawings in it to the time capsule.

Painting

Valerie makes a painting that depicts serenity for Dr. Hieler to show her gratitude and to show him how she sees him.
