Hatchet Objects/Places
Hatchet
A hatchet with a steel handle and rubber handgrip in a leather case with a brass-riveted belt loop is given to Brian by his mother on the ride to the airport to go visit his father. It becomes his most precious possession and the thing that keeps him alive.
Cessna 406 Bush Plane
A single engine, two-seater plane hauling oil-drilling equipment takes Brian from Hampton, New York to his father in northern Canada.
Canadian Wilderness
The territory where Brian is left stranded after the plane crash.
The Lake
An L-shaped body of water next to a small beach and the woods. This is also the source of Brian's drinking water and provides fish for food.
