Epilogue Summary
Brian's return to New York does not change his outlook and assessment of things. He now thinks before he speaks and marvels at the abundance of food in grocery stores. He has good dreams of the lake and has researched all of the berries, animals, and bushes he'd come into contact with. However, Brian comes to the conclusion that he may not have survived winter and was glad to have been rescued when he was. Life in a single parent household returns to the way it was before he was stranded. On future visits with his father, Brian almost tells him of "The Secret."
Epilogue Analysis
