Chapter 36 "The Only One He Ever Feared" Summary

Harry, upon realizing that Sirius has disappeared through the archway, tries to follow him through, but Lupin physically restrains Harry, telling him that Sirius will not be coming back. Following Sirius' defeat, Lestrange also manages to defeat Kingsley and flees the room. Harry, boiling with rage about Sirius being taken from him, chases after her. Harry follows Lestrange up to the lobby of the Ministry and they hurl spells at one another. Harry manages to land a forbidden torture curse on Lestrange, but its effect is blunted by Harry's lack of true evil intent. Harry and Lestrange shout at one another as they duel and Harry gloats that the prophecy has been destroyed and that the Death Eaters have failed.

Lestrange seems genuinely terrified and Voldemort materializes in.....
