Chapter 34 "The Department of Mysteries" Summary

The Thestrals turn out to be a speedy and accurate form of transportation, dropping the children right outside the Ministry of Magic. Harry leads the group into the Ministry but is perplexed by the lack of any security at all. Undaunted, they enter the black door Harry had so often seen in his dreams and find themselves in a circular room ringed with identical black doors. When they close the door through which they entered, the room revolves several times, making it impossible to tell which door they came through. They try a few wrong doors. One contains a pool with brains floating in it and another contains an ancient, mysterious archway with a hanging veil. With the aid of a marking charm, they are able to keep track.....
