Chapter 33 "Fight and Flight" Summary

Hermione leads Harry and Umbridge out of the castle and into the Forbidden Forest. Unable to speak to Hermione without being heard, Harry at first thinks that Hermione is leading them to Grawp, but he soon notices that she is taking a different path into the woods. Once they are deep into the forest, they are detained by a pack of centaurs, who have made it clear that they have no love for humans. Umbridge, in characteristic fashion, peppers the centaurs with insults, further enraging them. Panicked, Umbridge assaults the centaurs with magic, but she is almost immediately captured and taken away, screaming.

Bound by their laws against attacking the young, the centaurs do not attack Harry and Hermione. Several of the centaurs argue that Harry and Hermione are not that.....
