Chapter 27 "The Centaur and the Sneak" Summary

Harry and Ron learn that their Divination class has been moved to an enchanted classroom that resembles the Forbidden Forest to better accommodate their new professor, Firenze the Centaur. Firenze reveals that he has been banished by his own kind for agreeing to work for Dumbledore and begins class by discounting most of what Trelawney has taught them, explaining that humans only concern themselves with minute, trivial matters when examining the future. Centaurs, on the other hand, have a far more advanced understanding of divination and he tells the children that the wizarding world is currently experiencing a brief period of peace between two major wars. After class, Firenze asks Harry to tell Hagrid to abandon his secret task as a futile endeavor. Though Firenze refuses to explain.....
