Chapter 25 "The Beetle at Bay" Summary

The next day's edition of the Daily Prophet reveals what has made Voldemort so happy. Ten Death Eaters, including Sirius' cousin Bellatrix Lestrange, have escaped from Azkaban and Sirius is suspected of being involved. In the same issue, the children learn that a man they saw at St. Mungo's was killed in what they suspect was a murder connected to the Department of Mysteries. Hermione abruptly leaves to send a letter and Harry and Ron learn that Umbridge has put Hagrid on probation. Umbridge has also decreed that no teacher can give information to a student that is not directly related to the subject they are paid to teach, all the while looking for a reason to fire Trelawney and Hagrid, both of whom she now inspects daily.
