Chapter 15 "The Hogwarts High Inquisitor" Summary

The next morning, the children inspect the Daily Prophet for the article Percy mentioned in his letter. It details new laws aimed at interfering with the workings at Hogwarts and the appointment of Professor Umbridge to the post of High Inquisitor. It also explains that Umbridge will be the Ministry's agent for scholastic reform at Hogwarts. The children head to class, watching for Umbridge to sit in and review their teachers. Umbridge first turns up in Professor Trelawney's Divination class, grilling Trelawney and the students for information throughout the class.

Later, in her own class, Umbridge tells the children to simply read their textbooks quietly. Hermione protests, having read and understood the entire book already. When Hermione responds to a question about the book correctly and then offers a dissenting.....
