Harry enters the dungeon location of his hearing before the Wizengamot and is immediately chastised for being late. Though Harry's offense would typically merit a small and simple disciplinary hearing, the chamber is filled with witches and wizards who will hear the case and decide Harry's fate. Cornelius Fudge, the Minister of Magic, sits at the head of the court and officiates at the proceedings. As the proceedings begin, Dumbledore appears unannounced to act on Harry's behalf, though it is apparent that Fudge does not want him there and made every attempt to make sure that Dumbledore would miss the hearing.
Fudge grills Harry about the incident with the dementors, clumsily trying to make the case that Harry is lying about being in danger and that he should be convicted. Mrs. Figg.....
