Chapter 13 Summary

Katie was moved to St. Mungo's Hospital Magical Maladies and Injuries the next day. The whole school knew she had been cursed, although only a few thought she had been an accidental victim. Not knowing whether Dumbledore had returned to Hogwart's, Harry headed up to his office at the scheduled time.

After Harry talked about Sirius, Katie and Draco, Dumbledore reviewed the previous lesson: The handsome Muggle, Tom Riddle, had abandoned Merope, his witch wife, in London. Pregnant and in rags she sold Slytherin's necklace for a fraction of its value. Dumbledore then continued: This time, they entered Dumbledore's memory. They followed the younger Dumbledore; he met Mrs. Cole, the matron of an orphanage. They saw the younger Dumbledore asking Mrs. Cole about Tom Riddle: She remembered that Merope had stumbled in a few.....
