Azkaban is the prison for wizards and witches.

Dementors

Dementors are creatures who bring a sense of hopelessness and despair to all around them. If left unchecked, Dementors may perform the "Dementor's Kiss," which involves sucking out a person's soul, leaving them an empty shell. They affect Muggles and magical beings alike. To keep them at bay, wizards and witches use a Patronus.
