III Berlin 1939 I Summary

Sid and Paul are riding the trolley when they think they see Ernst sitting at a café with a woman. At the next stop, a man gets on the trolley. He strikes up a conversation with Paul about Paul not being in uniform. Paul says he's not in uniform yet. The two men say, Hail Hitler, as Paul and Sid get off the train. Sid sees Paul is angry and somewhat shaken because the two men have forged papers from Ernst, but they aren't that great.

Paul and Sid arrive at the Hound, Ernst's club. This is where the band practices on stage, even though the club is defunct now. Hiero is already on stage practicing. As the boys practice, Ernst shows up with the woman they saw him with at the café, Delilah Brown. She's a singer who...
