Summary

In the first chapter of Part 3, Pearl and Corazon rode the bus to Texas. Pearl took the batteries out of the smoke alarm in the bathroom so she could smoke. Corazon said that Ray had called her and they were going to meet up with him. Corazon said that she had stolen jewelry from Mr. Brodsky’s bedroom. She gave Pearl a string of pearls and Pearl realized she could feel empathy for objects.

In Chapter 33, Pearl and Corazon talked on the bus. Corazon said that Ray had asked her to meet some men and pick up some bags. Pearl asked if he knew she was with Corazon, and Corazon said Ray knew and would let her have anything she wanted.
