The narrator, also the hero of our story, Gulliver, starts by telling the reader that his father sent him to school when he was young. Gulliver was schooled to become a surgeon there and he also took up navigation and other subjects that would be valuable at sea. After his education, he became a doctor on a ship for a couple of years. Gulliver then decided to settle down in London, married, and set up a practice. After his only friend and mentor died, his business failed and he was forced to once again take a position on a ship. After sailing with the ship for a couple of more years, he once again tried to open a practice. Once again, the practice failed and he was commissioned by a captain.....
