Chapters 35-42 Summary

Anita keeps her appointment with Malcolm at the Church of Eternal Life. Anita bluffs and says she has proof that the Church of Eternal Life is involved in the vampire murders. Anita also tells Malcolm about the shooting at the Church earlier that day and that the shooter who attempted to kill her was marked with vampire bites. Malcolm tells Anita he knows nothing about it, but it is clear to Anita that Malcolm is hiding something. Malcolm tries once again to use vampire powers on Anita and cannot understand why the animator has partial immunity to his advanced skills.

Anita comes to the conclusion that Edward is the vampire killer. However, it does not make sense that Edward would send someone else to kill her when Edward would be the best person for the job. Anita is torn because she must deliver the killer...
