Page 153-202 Summary

Captain Vimes and Lady Ramkin return to the Night Watch headquarters and find that Colon has made the librarian a member of the watch. Vimes is unsure about this but accepts it. They decide to rename Goodboy after Nobbs's brother Errol. They warn Vimes not to call the librarian a monkey because it offends him but as they are explaining this fact to Captain Vimes one of them accidentally says the word.

Meanwhile the Elucidated Brethren are getting their magical items together to call the dragon. The Supreme Grand Master convinces them all that they will need to only call the dragon until they are able to get the new king into the palace. It has become easier for him to call the dragon each time. He can feel the dragon.
