Summary

In Chapter 1, Enchanted Jones awakens in a puddle of blood soaked into the carpet. She looks around the room and sees blood all over the couches and her clothes. She steps over Melissa who lays on the ground, and notices Korey slumped on the bed, covered in blood.

In Chapter 2, Enchanted thinks about how she believed she was a mermaid in her past life, living deep in the ocean. She enjoys swimming at school, and the girls on the swim team, Mackenzie and Hannah encourage her to sing.

In Chapter 3, Enchanted’s mother comes to pick her and her sister, Shea, up from school. Shea is a freshman. Mom drives Enchanted to Manhattan for what she believes to be a swim meet. Enchanted reveals that she wants to go to a singing competition in the city. Mom tells her that singing needs to...
