Chapter 59 Summary

Eleven years later, he returns to see Joe and Biddy. They have a child who they have named Pip. He takes him over to the churchyard and he shows Pip where his parents are buried. He goes to visit Havisham's and, by a strange turn of fate, meets Estella there in the midst of a cold, silvery mist. She has changed but it still beautiful. Pip tells her he lives abroad but does all right. She now knows what Pip's love was worth. She says she is glad to be taking leave of him in this spot. She asks for their friendship......
