Pip goes home with his left arm very much burned. His right arm is injured but not as much. Herbert comes to his aid and nurses his injuries, steeping his bandage in cool liquid and setting them on repeatedly. Herbert has spoken to Provis. Molly was once his woman and they had a child. Provis is Estella's father, but he does not know that she is alive.
