Chapter 46 Summary

Pip now goes down to Clara's house to see Provis. He gets lost a bit but finally finds the Old Green Copper Rope Walk. Provis is upstairs above Clara's father, who makes quite a bit of noise. He tells Provis that his quarters are under surveillance and that they will have to leave now. Provis' name has been now changed to Campbell for his protection. They are going to have to take Campbell to a steamer by a boat.

Chapter 46 Analysis

Things have become desperate and it is important that Magwitch leave the country. There seems to be a growing sense of understanding between Magwitch and Pip, who has truly become his protector.
