Chapter 15 Summary

Pip wants to make another visit to Miss Havisham, but Joe is not very happy with the idea. Finally, he decides to give Pip a half-holiday but Joe's journeyman, Orlick, does not appreciate that Pip is singled out. Orlick does not seem to like Pip either, having beat sparks in his direction when they are working. When Orlick demands to be let off, too, Mrs. Joe overhears it and complains. Orlick calls her a "fool shrew." She goes into a screaming fit, provoking a fight between Joe and Orlick, which Joe wins. Eventually, Pip goes to see Miss Havisham, who goads him about Estella not being there. Pip accompanies Wopsle to Pumblechook's where they read about the tragedy of George Barnwell. On the way home, Pip and Wopsle meet Orlick. When they get.....
