At 7:10 in the morning, Bull drives to Hobie's Grill, where he has proudly become a regular over the last six months. In the car, he pictures the rituals occurring even now at Hobie's. Ed Mills, the mailman, will have arrived at seven on the dot when Hobie opens for business. Hobie will refrain from speaking to Ed until Ed has had his first cup of coffee.
