Chapter 6 "Harassing Miss Harris" Summary

Several weeks into the school year, Gilly has already caught up and gone ahead of the rest of her classmates. She expects this to infuriate Miss Harris, but her teacher does not seem to suspect that Gilly detests her. Gilly thinks back to how she'd driven the teachers crazy at her old school, Hollywood Gardens, by excelling in her studies, then refusing to work. Somehow, she suspects these tactics will not work with Miss Harris, who is about as emotional as a robot. Gilly isn't sure whether to like the fact that she is treated just like everybody else, and not made a special case. She is used to her teachers getting upset with her, and taking Gilly's successes and failures personally.

She decides to try to upset the always-calm Miss.....
