Chapter 9-12 Summary

Chapter nine begins with Harry awaking to his door banging loudly. Harry grabs his gun and goes to the door expecting the worse only to hear Michael on the other side. Father Forthill had called Michael and told him that a girl, Lydia, had come to the church for refuge. Something had come to the church just after sunset and tore everything up outside trying to get in to the girl. Father Forthill couldn't see the creature but could feel it. Father Forthill believed the girl to be asleep but when he went to check on her later the back door was unlocked and she was gone. It is close to daylight and Harry and Michael head toward the church.

At the church Harry and Michael look over the immense damage done to the garden and the cars in the church...
