Summary

“Meet the President!” takes place in the future. A 15-year-old boy named Bill Peek was in Felixstowe, England with his father, who worked for a government organization called “the Program” (164). He was playing with his new virtual reality headset, called the AG 12, when he was interrupted by two commoners, an old woman named Melinda Dunham and her young charge, Agatha “Aggie” Hanwell. Melinda was taking Aggie to her sister's funeral. Her sister was a 12-year-old prostitute. Melinda asked Bill questions about the AG 12 and he responded distractedly. He was playing a game in which his goal was to foil a plot to kill the American president. Melinda told Bill she forgot her rosary and asked him to wait with Aggie until she returned.
