Chaps. 13-15 Summary

Chap. 13. Katsa rides off with Giddon and Oll to Gideon's large country estate. The three companions are deployed by King Randa to punish the nearby Lord Ellis for refusing a proposed marriage for one of Ellis's daughters to a Nander underlord in an area of fighting and danger. Katsa remembers Po telling her that she has the power to refuse to do King Randa's will.

When they reach Ellis's estate they confront Ellis, but Katsa merely has Ellis remove his servants. She says that she will not force Ellis to marry off one of his daughters to this Nander underlord. She makes threats to Ellis to conceal her actions, and an agreement is made for Katsa to wound Giddon and Oll, and for Katsa to take sole responsibility for not assaulting and torturing Ellis. After they leave, there is an atmosphere...
