Lillie's Kitchen

Lillie’s kitchen is the main setting for the story. In this setting, Rose tells Lillie about her past experiences and romantic failings, as well as the progression of her career. Despite the fact that this is the only setting in which Rose’s conversation with Lillie takes place, the kitchen is barely mentioned, because most of the story consists of Rose reminiscing about her past, so the narration focuses on past settings for events in Rose’s early life.
