Chapter 19, "The Sea! The Sea! The Sea!" Summary

Tom, Will and Zach are riding in the cart traveling toward the sea. When they get close, they board the horse at a farmer's and get out their bikes to travel the rest of the way. Will is riding on the back of Tom's tandem bike since he cannot ride a bike anyhow. Soon, they see the sea and rush down to it, shouting and dancing with joy. After a brief drink of lemonade, they go from house to house inquiring if they can lodge there for two weeks. A widow named Mrs. Clarence has agreed with delight since her four sons are gone to the war. The name of the town where they will be staying is Salmouth, a relatively quiet and uncrowded sea town.
