Amy Elliott Dunne: August 23, 2010 Summary

Nick experiences a layoff from his job. Amy talks about at first Nick focuses his time on taking care of things that have gone undone around the house. Then, he says it's a good thing they have her money to fall back on, so he goes on a shopping spree. Amy mentions that they have almost $800,000, which is not enough to stop working for the rest of their lives. this is especially true after Amy loses her job too.

Amy says that her parents come over to talk to them. They confess that they are basically broke because they have not properly managed their money lately. They ask to borrow some money from Amy and Nick. They ask to borrow almost the entire amount Amy has left.
