It is two days later, and Leiter is driving Bond to the airport in his large sedan to catch a plane back to London. Bond asks Leiter if they have caught up with Goldfinger yet. Leiter tells him that they have not. Goldfinger, Galore and the other gangsters somehow vanished off the train. They know they did not make it to the Russian submarine and have not shown up at the warehouse in New York, or at the borders with Mexico or Canada.
