Chapters 61 - 65 Summary

The run on Sonder Ditch begins the next morning. Manfred buys as much stock as he can get without drawing attention to himself by spreading his buying power around the various agencies. They, in turn, told their favorite clients that a run on Sonder Ditch was occurring, sparking interest from some and panic from others. The other Kitchenerville companies soon follow suit. The price goes up and then crashes. The fat man is apoplectic, but there is nothing they can do now.

Johnny and Big King have managed to drill halfway through the Big Dipper. Big King goes straight to the Induna to find out what the newest information is, and the Induna tells him that the police have taken Crooked Leg into custody. Big King leaves feeling defeated.
