Chapters 56 - 60 Summary

Rod gets an estimate for the repair of his Maserati of twelve-hundred Rand. Detective Inspector Grobbelaar arrives asking for cooperation in their investigation of Josè Almeida's death, and Rod sends him to the compound manager with assurances of complete cooperation. Later, he surveys the work done at the site where Davy died, and Big King requests to be let out of his contract, but unable to give a concrete reason, he is denied. He finds Johnny who informs him that they are less than a thousand feet from the Dipper. Rod leaves for a meeting at the head office. Manfred greets him telling him he's late. The meeting goes until after dark, and Manfred asks Rod to stay afterward.
