Chapters 31 - 35 Summary

Terry meets her grandfather, Hurry, in the bar of the President Hotel. They talk like friends and Teresa casually mentions her impressions of Rod and how she believes he is a competent General Manager, not knowing that her grandfather has actually chosen Fred Plummer for the position. When she realizes Rod is not the sure replacement, she takes it upon herself to ensure he is, comparing him to her father to gain points with Hurry. It is the correct push and Hurry decides in Rod's favor. Manfred sits on the plane to Paris, and a large man beside him removes his shirt and takes out his cigarettes.
