Summary

Martín gives Casiopea a telegram from her mother and says she is worried. Casiopea does not want to talk to him, but he says Vucub-Kamé is giving her another chance and says it will help them both. She says Martín never does anything for her, and he says they will walk the Black Road. She asks if he hates her because of her defiance and says the way Cirilio treated Martín was not her fault. She wanted to be his friend, and Martín apologizes and says he wants to go home. He believes that Hun-Kamé will abandon her and their family even if she wins.
