Summary

In Chapter 12, Rory and Eli deliver an entire load of whiskey to the designated delivery spot, a gas station. There is an empty tank that is specifically meant for the placement of the whiskey. As they work, Rory mentions the nearby pastor and his glass eye. He thinks that he could be the person whose eye Bonni gouged out years ago. Eli dismisses the notion. Eli mentions an unfamiliar car he saw recently near Eustace’s house, and he wonders if it had been a Muldoon driving it. In Chapter 13, Rory and Eli go to Gumtree Speedway, a nearby stock car racetrack. During the race, they see that one of the racers is Cooley Muldoon, who is driving a green Hudson Hornet.
