Summary

Part 4 opens with Chapter 11. Jean Louise remembers sixth grade when she'd been traumatized by the beginning of her period. One day, a boy named Albert told her he'd made a C-minus in geography and thanked Jean Louise for her help. Before Jean Louise could react, he kissed her and she felt his tongue on her lips. The other girls in her grade fed her misinformation, including that a girl they knew had gotten pregnant after her daddy kissed her, sticking his tongue in her mouth. Jean Louise began to fish for more information and became convinced she was pregnant. She knew her family would be forever ashamed and decided to kill herself before she had the baby. She climbed up the water tower and thought about her funeral. She debated how she would jump so that the fall would hurt as little...
