Chapters 15-16 Summary

In Chapter 15, Skye wakes up with Mol at the party, and then walks home. There, she finds that Anna's found Heda, the dead bird, in the freezer, and is irrationally upset. Skye goes to hide in the library, only to find that she's gotten her period as she reads a book of Walt Whitman's poetry. She then goes to St. Jude's seminary nearby, where she hides in the bathroom. She wants to cut herself, but can't make herself do it, though she does think of both Jessica and Anna as she stays there.

Skye's literature paper is due in Chapter 16, but her teacher won't accept her excuses. In addition, he tells her that her idea, about Virginia Woolf's madness in her writing, is not all right, since she cannot use the biography. However, he feels badly for her, so he tells...
