Summary

In Chapter 14, Harriet, Margot, and Perdita return to Kercheval house. Harriet hopes to get revenge on Tamar for her cruelty. Once at the house, Harriet speaks to Gabriel for the first time in years on the computer. They reach an understanding. When all the Lees are together inside, Perdita and Ari begin dancing. Tamar finally comes around once she sees how accepting Ari is of the Lees.

Ari then tells them about their annual good deed, housing three families in three houses; he wants the Lees to live in one. Tamar initially objects but Ari calms her. He explains that their agent Miss Maszkeradi will show them the houses, each of which they will have to stay in for one night. Tamar says she will go too.
