Chapter 15 Summary

Lou sits in the car with Candy and tries to explain to her that Mathu has set himself free from her and set her free from him. He tries to explain that Mathu wants to live his own life for the short time he has left. Candy ignores him. He tells her he wants an answer about where their relationship is going before he leaves that night. She slaps him. He says he will stay until Mapes takes Mathu, and then he will leave. Gable comes out and asks Aunt Glo where the sheriff is. Gable comes to the car and asks Lou where the sheriff is. Lou blinks the car lights to summon him. Candy tries to get Gable to talk about what happened inside, but he won't tell her anything. Gable.....
