Chapter 11 Summary

David begins to write a short story that has been on his mind for the past four or five days. He believes it has been developing in his dreams during the last two nights. He knows it is bad to interrupt the longer narrative, but he thinks it is going so well that he can always return to it. He is afraid if he does not write the short story now, he will lose it. Afterwards, he goes to the cafy and has breakfast.
