Summary

In the lead story, “Throttle (with Stephen King),” Vince, Race, and the rest of the Tribe pulled up to a diner in the desert on their motorcycles. They were running from a “slaughter,” and Lemmy insisted that Vince and Race discuss what to do next (17). Vince was eager to return home to Las Vegas, but Race wished to go to Arizona, where he believed Clarke’s sister would return his lost $60,000 of investment money.

The Tribe was connected through their war experiences. Separately, Race had met Clarke fighting in Iraq and were friends after Race’s dishonorable discharge. Clarke convinced Race to invest in a meth lab, but it burned down on the first day of operation. The Tribe raced to find him in Alabama, where he was preparing to escape.
