Chapter 107 Summary
Stump Threadgoode is at his daughter's house for Thanksgiving on November 27, 1986. He is fifty-seven years old and sitting with his daughter, son in law, granddaughter and her boyfriend. His wife Peggy is there with him. Stump is telling stories of Whistle Stop and Ruth and Idgie. He tells them that Idgie liked people to think she was mean, but she had a heart of gold. She didn't like people to tell others when she helped them. He talks about Railroad Bill. He had thought Artis could be Railroad Bill and had spent time following Artis, but never caught him. One morning he got up and heard Idgie and Ruth in the bathroom. When they came out, Idgie was drying her face. The bathroom sink was full of coal dust and there was a black stocking cap on the floor.
