This chapter takes place in the home of Evelyn Crouch on August 8, 1986. She feels violated after the encounter at the supermarket. She has spent most of her life trying to avoid being called names. She stayed a virgin to avoid being called a slut, had kids to not be called barren and avoided the feminist movement to not be called a homosexual. Over the years, racial and ethnic slurs have become taboo, but men still call women names. For the first time in her life, Evelyn becomes angry. She invents an alter ego, which she calls Towanda the Avenger.
Evelyn imagines herself righting the wrongs in society. She gives drug dealers overdoses and tortures rapists and child molesters. She makes Jerry Falwell take care of all unwanted children and makes parents apply.....
