On March 30, 1986, Easter Sunday, Ed picks up his mother and brings her home. Evelyn wants to invite Mrs. Threadgoode, but Ed thinks it would upset his mother. Evelyn wants to go with him to take his mother back, but her son calls as they are leaving and she stays behind to talk to him. She hasn't seen Ninny in two weeks. When she goes the next week, Mrs. Threadgoode has purple hair. Some beauty school students came to style the residents' hair. They talk and Ninny tells Evelyn.....
