Evelyn and Ninny are in Rose Terrace eating ice cream on March 2, 1986. Ninny tells Evelyn about Railroad Bill, a black man who would jump on government supply trains, throw food and coal off near Troutville during the depression. Grady Kilgore could never catch him and Idgie would tease him about Railroad Bill. They were good friends and had started the Dill Pickle Club together. The club consisted of a bunch of people sitting around telling outrageous stories and drinking whiskey. Ruth wasn't crazy about the club. Whenever someone asked where they could by alcohol, Idgie and the other club members would send him to the Baptist preacher's house, just to aggravate him. Sipsey was the only black person in the club because she could tell crazy stories like the rest of.....
